Hello,
I fished off the rocks near Big Sur with 2 friends from 12:30-4:30 today. There was a low tide of negative 1.7 around 4pm. The moderately small west swell (about 4-8ft) and HOT sunny weather created ideal conditions. It was actually warm enough to sport the beater tanktop. Or just straight-up shirtless hahaha! It's January, right?! We used frozen squid on either a 3-way swivel or a dropper loop. And this time I used the pre-snelled octopus hooks (3/0) instead of attaching a hook directly to the dropper loop...mainly because of small swell and gin clear water. A 2oz torpedo sinker was enough to hold bottom.
